Kichler Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Kichler is a high end company that provides lighting solutions.
Designer (Former Employee) says"The management at Kichler was terrible. There was no employee incentive, no work bonus structure and management that was in place was terrible. HR knew all this and chose to look away."
Distribution associate (Former Employee) says"Work hard everyday and not getting paid enough. Some workers just standing around doing nothing. Manager dont care if they just standing around doing nothing and too many of them just sitting down all the times."
Picker Packer. Receiving. (Former Employee) says"Company is runned by a bunch of morons in an office that have no idea how a warehouse works. Work OT when there's no work and then get yelled at for not working. Amazing"
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"Terrible company, easy job! they just don't care about the balance between work and personal life. You have no vacation time you only earn .77 hours a pay it took 3 months to get 1.5 vacation days, you have no flexibility to come in early and to leave early. there is no sick time you get 1 sick day every 3 months. They set you up for failure, if you were to every get on notice due to lack of sick.personal vacation time that notice never falls off it just stays there and add on. So you never get a chance to start over. The managers there don't know how to speak to you in a personal manner. They micro manage all day long. The job is easy and fun to do while they have some work to do in order to be considered a good company to work for. Your short term disability is based on how long you have worked there they don't care if you need to have surgery and Dr says you will need 6-8 weeks they will only give you what they want to which in my case would have been 1-2 weeks Cons: no vacation personal or flexibity with work schdule"
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"When I left my employment at Kichlers I was at the point that it took everything inside of me to get up every morning a go to work, There was no support from the management staff in the department."
Reach Truck Driver (Former Employee) says"Very poor management. They turn you loose and expect you to already know how their system works. Then they blame you when you make mistakes. Definitely would not recommend this job to a friend."
Chief Information Officer (Former Employee) says"Kichler was a wonderful company to work for until purchased by MASCO. They replaced all of the senior staff memebrs. Some needed to be replaced but the best ones were let go as well. Terrible transitioning and integraytion."
Order Management Specialist (Former Employee) says"A lot of tattle telling, nick picking no appreciation and a lot of back stabbing. Mananagement listens to people who has been there longer over new people when really people who has been there longer kept their place because they snitch and nick pic people. If your not black you have a pretty good chance of being a favorite.you get barely no sick time or time to call off or take care of your family.if you don’t like weekly pay this job is not for you Cons: 30 minute lunches, micro management, nick pick"
ann (Current Employee) says"Nice to place to work. Good work hours. If they would just catch up with the times and become more modern it would be an excellent place to work. The work load that's provided does not compliment the pay grade. High turn over Cons: little vacation time, low pay, work and life not managiable"
Customer Service (Current Employee) says"No comment to each there own it may work for you no diversity at all broken wish no room for growth some may depends if your that person or not which is great Cons: No growth for some"
N/A (Former Employee) says"In October they laid off 21 people. MASCO purchased Kichler and is making radical changes. Management is protecting themselves and getting rid of any competition to save there own jobs."
Warehouse Worker (Current Employee) says"They love to work people long hard hours ,but to not appreciate hard work or a willingness to learn more. And they most definitely do not reward performance. This place is only to be used and abused ,because that's about all they have in-store for you ."
Warehouse Associate/Material Handler (Current Employee) says"whse. is run VERY inefficiently. Mgmnt. makes decisions without the knowledge of how things will work. Book smart, NOT streetsmart. They will lose customers. Union workforce has way too many goof offs and folks who just do not care. So. other than that, a good place to waster your time and ability. I will not sugarcoat the truth as I see it. Cons: morale sucks. so does mgmnt. as rodney dangerfield says, "no respect" LOL!"
Warehouse Associate (Current Employee) says"ok place to work, management needs review, working environment ok. There is a lot of favoritism that take place, workers cant pay much, their opinions don't count"
Picker/Loader (Current Employee) says"I worked there got years. A lot of favoritism without overtime i made 350 dollars a week. No chance of moving up. I knew every job there and they didn't give me any extra compensation for it."
Shipping and Receiving Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) says"The leadership style of management is autocratic, and fails to impact employees favorably. Laissez-faire leadership thwarts the growth of employees and is ineffective for productivity. Cons: Management"
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) says"Masco Corp, the parent company of Kichler, closed the location I was working at after repeatedly telling us months prior to the acquisition that nothing was going to change. The job itself wasn't anything special, just your typical warehouse job. The pay was terrible compared to other jobs in the warehouse industry. The schedule and benefits were the only positives about the job. Cons: Low wages, no career advancement, parent company untrustworthy"
Material Handler (Former Employee) says"Fast paced job environment. Management is very strict on talking with coworkers. There is a lot of overtime during peak periods. Strick with following point system."
Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter (Lay-off) says"Nice people, but management has a very hard time keeping its employees informed. Very hard to do your job. No direction given because they do not want to relinquish any control. Training is poor. Cons: management"
Order Entry Specialist (Former Employee) says"Decent pay and hours could do better on pto and vacation time management could use more guidance as well they are known for firing very quickly and nick pick"
Current Employee - Associate Product Manager says"I have been working at Kichler Lighting full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Poor compensation Poor work life balance Department communication gas Poor department organization Poor management style"
Former Employee - Administrative Assistant says"I worked at Kichler Lighting full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Management issues dealing with employees"
Former Employee - Marketing says"I worked at Kichler Lighting full-time for more than 3 years Cons: The nepotism at Kichler is unreal. If you're skilled and more qualified than a family member (both owners and CEO), they will be promoted and/or hired over you in a heartbeat. The CEO's own family members are independent sales reps for Kichler and they take advantage of it by yelling at employees and using scare tactics to intimidate people within the organization. Marketing is treated like a 3rd-class citizen and receives demands for literature and projects from sales on a daily basis. Zero unity between the different departments. Little to no repercussions for mishandling of situations. HR department doesn't know how to recruit and retain employees."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Kichler Lighting full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Worked there for over 4 years and put up with a lot of bulling, harassment and game playing (very childish environment). There is no integrity, a lot of favoritism (even within upper management), there is absolutely no procedures no accountability & no respect. Worked in 2 different departments (Operations & Imports/Export Dept) within my time there. The warehouse is not ISO compliant so the execution of product is poor which is a clear result of no outside audits being routinely done. Overall if you don't fit in a click or are not family your pretty much a peon and your word means nothing even if you are telling the truth and others are lying to cover up wrong doing. Word to all looking for employment stick with a public owned company stay away from family owned company's they have no one to watch over them to make sure they do the right thing."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Kichler Lighting full-time Cons: Dishonest, unfair and unwilling to do the right thing. Never been lied to so much by grown adults."
Operations says"I worked at Kichler Lighting Cons: Management needs management training. The company is completely outdated. Stay away from the "Builder Department" if you must work there. Will pat you on the back one minute and let you go without warning the next. Vacation is hilarious.. Company morale is awful.. No diversity in leadership/management roles. Don't respect women opinions. I wish I could be more positive but I have worked in Corporate for over 20 years and this place is the worse. I got questioned for using the bathroom and I wasn't even in sales. So if you like to be micromanaged this is the place for you."
says"I worked at Kichler Lighting Cons: Not worth the abuse. The culture is toxic!"
says"I worked at Kichler Lighting Cons: If you like politics and petty retribution this might be the place for you. They don't appreciate the good employees they have. Profit leaks all over. nepotism, backstabbing, top heavy organization, no new ideas, roadblocks everywhere, unwilling and unable to change and step into the 21st century. The ideals that they claim to hold: integrity, teamwork, honesty, etc couldn't be further from reality."
Salary says"I have been working at Kichler Lighting Cons: The place is supervised sorely on longevity- the good are gone and only the bad who have to stay are left. Managers, supervisors and engineers are often promoted for the wrong reasons, such as a engineering manager that was a graphics clerk and pushed through the system based on nepotism not ability or knowledge. If you were to do a general review of the employees credentials from engineer, management, director, VP to CEO you would find them if not sorely missing but lacking in creditability. The head of HR is just an embarrassment to all. The president of the company runs the place as if it's a shoe factory in the Victorian era. There isn't any team work, effort or loyalty due to fear, intimidation and layoffs. The problems start from the top down, a reason they can not retain talent on any level."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Kichler Lighting full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Newer management that doesn't understand the industry ."
